To help protect your personal information and keep our club’s website secure, the Kilowatt Amateur Radio Club will be implementing Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for all user accounts beginning 30 days from today.
What does this mean for you? When you log in to the website after the change goes into effect, you’ll be asked to provide a verification code that will be sent to your phone or email. This extra step ensures that only you can access your account — even if someone else happens to know your password.
What Will Change:
-
2FA will be required to log in to your account starting in 30 days.
-
You’ll receive a code via text message or email that must be entered along with your password.
-
You also have the option to use an authentication app on your smartphone, such as Google Authenticator, Authy, or Microsoft Authenticator. These apps are free, easy to use, and provide quick access codes even when you’re offline.
-
This added layer of protection will help prevent unauthorized access and improve site security for everyone.
What Will Stay the Same:
-
Browsing the website, including visiting the online store, does NOT require login.
-
Login is only required for:
-
Accessing Treasury Reports
-
Editing your profile information
-
Creating a new user account
-
We encourage you to enable 2FA now if you haven’t already, so you’re ready when it becomes mandatory. Setup is easy and only takes a minute.
If you have any questions or need help setting it up, feel free to reach out to the club’s web admin team for assistance.
Thank you for helping keep the Kilowatt website a safe and secure place for all hams!
